Can’t use GMail account as Windows Live ID
This is funny. I just heard about Microsoft’s Skydrive and thought that I would give it a try. Skydrive is similar to Box.net which I have an account with. In my opinion if someone is going to give you free online storage and… take it!!! Why use your own bandwidth to share your porn files with your friends and others.
So as I’m signing up, I’m asked to create a Windows Live ID. Now you can create a new idea by opening a HotMail account or use an existing email address. I figured that since I have a GMail account, I would use that.. WRONG!!!! Seems that Microsoft doesn’t like the fact that your using a rival service, so they force to enter an alternative email address since GMail is flagged as a “reserved domain”, which means the domain is banned.

I know!! Apparently you cant use the paraphrase “@” either!! Which means that… U HAVE TO HAVE SOME SUPER-MAIL ACCOUNT!! And that u cant use Gmail or Email!! f*** Windows Live!!!
Actually it used to be possible to have a Windows Live ID and use your GMail account as the login. The way to do this is to create a .NET Passport. It may still be possible. Personally I have my GMail account attached to my Xbox, and I use MSN/Windows Live Messenger very often with this login.
yea i have a gmail account attached to my gamertag after i got hacked through my hotmail account i use it through the msn portion on xbox but it wont let me sign online through xboxlive asks me to change my email makes me mad!
you can create a windows live ID using your gmail account or any other address, but you have to create the ID at this site first!!! http://www.passport.net Click the link that says use an existing email address.
