Quotes: Your wish
Your wish is my command. Just remember that you only get three and this was your second one.
Friday!
Today’s quote comes directly from my brother:
Today I became a man… a manly man. Clogged the toilet using no toilet paper. Thats how big my shit was. Bow to me fucker.
Needless to say, he needs help.
Commenting from the heart.
I take it that not everyone loved _why’s (poignant) Guide to Ruby.
Russian Sleep Experiment: the best short story I’ve read.
Don’t know who wrote this or where it came from. My brother emailed me a link to it and I was completely immersed in it. Kudos to the author. If you know the author or any other works by this person, please leave me links in the comments, I would love to read more from this person.

Download videos fast with DownloadHelper and DownloadThemAll!
Most will find this post a big DUH, but for those that aren’t in the know, I’m going to show you how to download any video extremely fast using the excellent FireFox add-ons DownloadHelper and DownloadThemAll!.
First thing you need to do is to make sure you’re using the FireFox webbrowser and have the two add-ons installed that we’ll be using; DownloadHelper and DownloadThemAll!.
After you install everything, fire up FireFox (pun intended). You’ll notice an icon next to the address bar that looks like three grey balls, this is DownloadHelper’s icon. Also if you click on your FireFox Tools menu, you’ll see that you have DownloadThemAll! installed.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s download a video from Youtube.com; how about the video of Linus Torvalds presenting a talk about git at Google.
First, go to the address of the video on Youtube.com which is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XpnKHJAok8.
Now, click play so that Youtube starts to load the video. At this point you’ll notice that the DownloadHelper icon is colored (red, blue, yellow) and starts spinning, this indicates that videos are available to download. Click the little arrow next to the DownloadHelper icon and you’ll see a selection of videos to download.

For this video, you can either download the low or high quality version. We’ll download the low quality version for this test. Move your mouse over the selection for “Tech Talk: Linus Torvalds on git”, HOWEVER DON’T CLICK IT, just leave your mouse over it for a second and then another context menu will come up. From that context menu select “Copy to URL”.

Once you make the selection, click the Tools menu in FireFox and select Manager.

Once the DownloadThemAll!’s manager pops up, click the “Add URL(s)” button:

The next screen is where you enter the information to download the video. The URL field should be automatically filled in for you with the video you want to download. Just select a destination by clicking the folder icon at the end of the “Save files in” field and click “Start”. Your video should start downloading.

The best thing about using this method is that DownloadThemAll! is fast as hell as you can see.

Now I know the question that ran through your head after reading this: “Can I download ANY video this way?” Obviously that means downloading regular movies and uh….. porn. The answer is “Yes you can”, so do so at your own risk and remember to be kind to the little guy, if you catch my drift
